An artist at heart, Chef David Buckley’s culinary journey began with a summer kitchen job along the New England seacoast—an experience that ultimately shaped a lifelong passion for food, craftsmanship, and hospitality. Working his way through every position in the kitchen, David developed a deep respect for each role and an understanding that great dining is the result of many moving parts working in harmony.

As a hands-on leader, Chef Buckley believes a strong kitchen starts with a strong team. He places trust, accountability, and pride at the center of his leadership style, empowering everyone—from dishwasher to sous chef—to execute at the highest level. His holistic approach to dining considers not only the food, but the full guest experience—from presentation and ambiance to consistency and care.

Chef Buckley’s background spans high-end catering for distinguished clients, including the Governor of New Hampshire, as well as refined interpretations of classic American cuisine. His cooking philosophy is guided by seasonality and locality, drawing inspiration from fresh, indigenous ingredients and trusted local vendors. By blending classical techniques with global influences, he creates dishes that feel both familiar and exciting—elevated, approachable, and deeply rooted in New England.

Today, Chef Buckley is a key member of the Mission Management Group, serving in an executive chef capacity while leading the culinary vision at Mission Oak Grill in Newburyport. His continued focus on creativity, quality, and collaboration ensures each dish reflects the Mission commitment to exceptional food and memorable experiences.
